What is a gastric balloon?
It is a saline-filled silicone balloon that is placed inside the patient’s gastric as part of a weight-loss non-surgical procedure known as gastric balloon. This facilitates weight loss by restricting the amount of food an individual can consume and making them feel fuller quicker.

What happens during gastric balloon procedure?
At the beginning, the gastric balloon is linked to an endoscope, a narrow lighted tube with a camera connected, and it is directed across the patient’s mouth and keeps moving it into the stomach. Once it is in the suitable location, the physician fills the balloon with saline and a dye and expands it to the desired size.

Who is a good candidate for a gastric balloon?
This procedure is useful for individuals with an age of 18 to 55 and a BMI of 30 to 40 who are unable to reduce weight regardless  of dieting and do not have stomach diseases like ulcer.

How much weight can you lose with a gastric balloon?
Gastric balloons are non surgical options to weight loss regular surgeries for people with lower BMI. After 6 months, the majority of patients drop around 9 and 22 kilograms (about 10 to 20 percent of body weight).
